Leo Kornbrust

b. 31 August 1929 in St. Wendel, Saarland (D); German sculptor

He lives and works in his house in the "Damra", a natural and cultural landscape near the town of St. Wendel in the Saarland.

1976Co-founder of the artist-owned gallery and artists' promotion society Galerie im Zwinger, St. Wendel

Appointment to the chair for sculpture combined with architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich

1979

Initiator of the "Straße der Skulpturen" in St. Wendel

1985

Art Prize of the Saarland (1984/1985), Mia Münster Prize of the Municipality of St. Wendel

1991-1993 Deputy vice chancellor at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich
1998     Awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, 1st Class
